Privacy Policy

At Reepley ("we", "us", "our"), we believe that your meetings are your private business. We built Reepley to be a stealth, bot-less meeting copilot that gives you real-time AI insights without compromising the privacy of your conversations.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, and protect your information when you use the Reepley Chrome Extension and website (collectively, the "Service").

By using Reepley, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. The Reepley Privacy Promise (TL;DR)

Before diving into the legal details, here is our core commitment to you:

  • No Bots: We do not send virtual bots to join your meetings. Recording happens locally within your browser.

  • Your Data is Yours: We do not store a massive library of your videos on our servers. Recordings are saved locally to your device or directly to your personal Google Drive.

  • No AI Training: We use advanced AI models (via secure APIs) to process your transcripts, but your meeting data is strictly excluded from being used to train these AI models.

  • No Selling Data: We absolutely do not sell your personal data or meeting transcripts to third parties.

2. Information We Collect

To provide our Service, we collect the following types of information:

A. Account and Authentication Data
If you choose to connect Reepley to your Google Drive, we use Google OAuth 2.0 to authenticate you. We collect:

  • Your email address (to display in the extension UI so you know which account is connected).

  • Authentication tokens (securely stored locally to allow the extension to upload files to your Drive).

B. Meeting and Media Data
When you actively initiate a recording, Reepley captures:

  • Audio and Video: Captured locally via your browser to create the meeting recording.

  • Meeting Transcripts: The text generated from the spoken audio during your meeting.

C. Technical and Usage Data
We collect basic, anonymized analytics regarding how the extension is used (e.g., successful recordings, errors encountered, or UI interactions) to help us maintain and improve the product. We do not track your web browsing history outside of the active meeting session you are recording.

3. How We Process and Store Your Data

Reepley is designed with a "local-first" architecture to maximize your privacy:

  • Local Recording: Video and audio processing happens directly within your Chrome browser.

  • AI Processing (Remote): To generate live answers, summaries, and action items, we securely transmit your text transcripts to our secure proxy server (Google Apps Script), which then communicates with our AI providers (such as OpenAI/Anthropic). This text is encrypted in transit. Once the AI generates the summary or insight, it is returned to your screen and discarded from the active processing queue.

  • Data Storage: By default, your final video files and transcripts are downloaded directly to your local computer's hard drive. If you opt-in to our Google Drive integration, the files are uploaded directly to your personal Google Drive. We do not host or store your meeting videos on Reepley servers.

4. Third-Party Integrations and AI Providers

We use trusted third-party services to power Reepley. We ensure all partners comply with strict privacy and security standards.

  • AI Language Models: We utilize enterprise-grade APIs from AI providers to process your transcripts. Under our agreements with these providers, your data is never used to train their public or foundational AI models. Data sent to these APIs is retained only as long as necessary to generate the requested output, and then deleted.

  • Google Workspace API: If you authorize Google Drive integration, we interact with Google's APIs to upload your files.

Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance

Reepley's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

  • We only request access to https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file to create and save your meeting files to your Drive. We cannot access files we did not create.

  • We only request access to your email address to confirm your active account connection.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personally identifiable information or meeting data to third parties. We may disclose your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • To Comply with the Law: If required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).

  • Business Transfers: If Reepley is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred, subject to the same privacy commitments outlined here.

6. Your Data Privacy Rights

Depending on your location (including GDPR for European users and CCPA for California residents), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.

  • Request Correction of any incomplete or inaccurate data.

  • Request Deletion of your personal data from our active systems.

  • Revoke Access: You can revoke Reepley's access to your Google Drive at any time via your Google Account Security settings.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the contact us form in this website.

7. Security

The security of your data is critical to us. We use commercially acceptable means, including HTTPS encryption and secure OAuth token handling, to protect your personal information. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. If we make material changes, we may also notify you via an in-app alert within the Chrome Extension.
